Byron Bay Surf School

Byron Bay Surf School is a fully licenced (with Byron and Tweed Shire Councils) and insured surf school, able to teach at the best learn-to-surf breaks along the Tweed Coast and in Byron Bay. I, as the owner and Head Coach, have taught surfing & SUP training to students of all levels and ages since the early 1990s, and have owned and operated the Byron Bay Surf School since 2003. Before that I managed & help establish a surf school at iconic Bondi Beach for 9 years. I first started surf educating (1994) with my own surf school out of Canberra teaching along the South Coast of NSW.  My results, experience and longevity in the industry and 100% safety record speak for themselves.  Using my unique learn-to-surf technique and vast knowledge of local Tweed and Byron waves. I’ve taught thousands of people of all ages – including grommets – the skills and stoke of surfing. Byron Bay Surf School lessons are underpinned by Surfing Australia’s Safe Surfing Program; the NSW Department of Education’s Risk Assessment guidelines; the highest annual Surf Life Saving Australia lifeguarding skills, resuscitation and First Aid training and qualifications.
