Who: Byron Bay Surf School – the original surf school in the Bay, fully licenced and insured – is running weekly Saturday morning sessions to Byron in Term 1

What: 8 x 3 hour surf sessions including safe transport, all equipment, tuition, in-water guidance, and technique review in personalised, capped classes of 8 students

Where: Byron Bay Surf School is licenced to teach at all the best learner breaks in Byron and Brunswick Heads. Depart and Return 5 Elizabeth Pottsville NSW

Why: Learn to surf or progress your child’s surfing on the best learner breaks in Oz, utilising the experience and expertise one of the country’s most experienced surf instructors and owner of the Byron Bay Surf School, local Jayme Edwards, to get the surf skills and stoke while you’re young, and build on ocean skills for a lifetime in a fun and safe environment.

Byron Bay Surf School lessons are underpinned by Surfing Australia’s Safe Surfing Program, NSW Department of Education’s Risk Assessment guidelines, and the highest annual Surf Life Saving Australia lifeguard and First Aid qualifications.

Byron Bay Surf School’s key goal with our special After School Surf Program is learning lifelong surf skills in a fun and safe environment.

• Our lessons teach your child the fundamentals of surfing, but also provide education about the waves, the ocean, rips and currents, winds and sand banks – everything about surfing that will help your child understand his/her local breaks and enjoy the sport and the water.
• We’re out there in the water, by your child’s side, keeping your child safe, analysing his/her style, and providing advice to help them improve.
• Each lesson, we tailor information to suit your child’s needs and advancing ability, and provide suggestions to consider and practice in your child’s own time.
• We take the group to the most suitable waves on the day in the Byron Shire from Clarks, main beach, the Wreck, Belongil or Tallows as well as the Tweed Coast – from Duranbah, Kingscliff, Cabarita, Hastings Point or Pottsville Beaches. – Our instructors will take your child to the next level of surfing with maximum fun!
• After a few lessons with the Byron Bay Surf School, beware your child too might acquire the surfing addiction!!

Byron Bay Surf School is licensed to teach at all of the best beaches along the Tweed Coast and throughout Byron Bay. All of our coaches are highly experienced, safety trained and affiliated and approved by Surfing Australia.

6. Board selection, control and turning the board, eskimo rolls & duck diving.
